Fordson’s boys’ and girls’ cross country teams turned heads at the Rambling Rock Invitational on Saturday, September 6, at Willow Metropark, battling through a field of nearly 100 schools and over 850 total runners. Both squads placed 14th out of 40 schools, proving they can run with some of the best in the state. Boys Take Center Stage The boys’ race was highlighted by a dominant performance from Mourad Algahmi, who stormed to the overall individual championship out of 501 runners. Algahmi crossed the line in 15:42, just one second off his personal record, and left the field chasing in his wake. Fordson showed depth behind him as well, with Mohamed Aljahmi finishing 52nd in 17:47 (PR) and Mousa Ghaleb close behind at 61st in 18:01 (PR). In all, seven of the team’s eight runners posted personal bests, underscoring a breakout day for the Tractors. Girls Deliver Across the Board Not to be outdone, the Fordson girls also cracked the top 15, finishing 14th overall out of 40 teams. Leading the charge was Madeena El-Mubarak, who powered her way to 55th place in 22:10 (PR). Right on her heels was Dima Rtail at 57th in 22:12 (PR), while **Maha Sleiman** clocked a 23:05 (PR) for 83rd place. The story of the day for the girls was their consistency—all seven Fordson runners recorded personal records, showcasing the team’s hard work and steady progress. Momentum Building With both squads landing in the top half of a massive and competitive field—and nearly every runner setting a new personal best—the Tractors left Willow Metropark with confidence and momentum. If Saturday’s results are any indication, Fordson cross country is hitting its stride at just the right time. ---
